Effect of Mind Sound Resonance Technique (MSRT)-Yoga Based Relaxation Technique on Sleep Quality and Mental Health in it Professionals: A Pilot Study

Annals of Yoga and Physical Therapy March 2, 2021 PC Meenakshi, GK Divayalakshmi, VC Shivaji

A one-month, thrice-weekly practice of the Mind Sound Resonance Technique (MSRT), a chanting-based relaxation method, was associated with significant improvements in mental health and sleep among IT professionals. State anxiety decreased by 23%, trait anxiety by 19%, mood disturbance by 84%, and sleep quality improved by 56% from baseline. The pilot study involved 100 IT professionals aged 25-40 years. The authors suggest MSRT may benefit this population, but note that larger studies with stronger designs are needed to confirm these findings.
