Spiritual Rebirth in Three 19th-Century European Classics Compared to Transpersonal Experiences in Zeno’s Conscience: A Psychosynthetic Analysis of Zeno’s Conscience

This article examines transpersonal experiences in three classic novels—The Brothers Karamazov, Les Misérables, and A Christmas Carol—using a psychosynthetic framework. The spiritual experiences of the characters are interpreted as mystical experiences, a broad category within transpersonal experiences. Comparing these with Zeno's transpersonal events from the first article reveals that while Zeno's sporadic transpersonal events were deeply hidden in the text and had no lasting effect, the events in the three classics were conspicuous and had radical life-changing effects on the characters.
