The Noble Eightfold Path as a Technology for the Cessation of Dukkha

International Journal For Multidisciplinary Research October 13, 2025 Nguyen THI TOT -, Pallabi Mukherjee -

The Noble Eightfold Path can be understood as a technology for reducing suffering, built from three interconnected layers: ethical conduct provides stability, concentration optimizes attention, and wisdom identifies root causes. Each factor has specific inputs, processes, and observable outputs. The system operates through feedback loops where ethical coherence supports concentration, concentration enables insight, and insight strengthens ethics. Practical protocols include ten to twenty minutes of daily breath meditation, hourly three-breath check-ins, speech audits before conversations, and brief goodwill sessions. Progress is measured through pragmatic indicators like reduced rumination, fewer conflicts, faster emotional recovery, increased prosocial speech, and improved attentional stability. An eight-week training plan prioritizes small, repeatable behaviors and reflective review, making the path applicable in everyday contexts without requiring esoteric states.

The Science of Self: A Bibliometric and Pragmatic Analysis of Yoga, Meditation, And Wellbeing in The Contemporary Scientific Landscape

International Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences August 27, 2025 Pallabi Mukherjee -, Ankita Sharma, Vinita Ramchandani et al.

A bibliometric analysis of yoga and meditation research from 2010 to 2025 shows consistent publication growth, peaking between 2020 and 2022, driven by post-COVID health consciousness and India's 2020 National Education Policy promoting indigenous knowledge systems. The United States and India produce the most research. Influential authors include Holger Cramer, Romi Lauche, and Linda Carlson. Common keywords are mindfulness, mental health, and quality of life. Thematic mapping identifies quality of life, mindfulness, and depression as key themes, confirming the field's persistent utility in improving well-being. Future research may target relaxation training and systematic reviews.
