Transforming the Self: Exploring Effects of Vipassana on Delhi Police Trainees

Journal of Human Values January 1, 2002 Rakesh Kumar Agrawal, Kiran Bedi

Vipassana meditation can help align the values and ethical perceptions of police officers with universal principles, counteracting the degrading effects of institutional pressures. Feedback from Delhi Police personnel who underwent vipassana training showed positive trends across professional, personal, and inner dimensions, including work-related, humanitarian, family, and self aspects. The paper recommends worldwide adoption of such practices for those in positions of power and responsibility.
