Bartın University Journal of Faculty of Education June 25, 2026 Şule Korkmaz, Esim Gürsoy
A 12-week mindfulness-based intervention with 81 English Language Teaching pre-service teachers in a Turkish state university significantly increased general mindfulness and attention control. Participants reported psychological comfort, reduced anxiety and stress before presentations and exams, improved emotional self-regulation and motivation, and better ability to focus on current activities and regain attention by clearing their mind. The findings suggest mindfulness helps mitigate situational stress and enhances sustained attention through increased internal awareness.
