Possibility of Machine Consciousness

International Journal for Multidimensional Research Perspectives July 6, 2024 Mobashir Ahmad 1 citation

Machine consciousness, even if achieved, would fundamentally differ from biological consciousness. The research first examines consciousness from scientific and philosophical angles, noting the limits of current understanding. It then reviews cognitive and neuroscientific approaches that link the physical nature of consciousness to technological simulation, followed by a brief discussion of AI development. The core argument is that a phenomenological analysis, grounded in epistemology and metaphysics, reveals that machine consciousness cannot replicate the subjective, lived experience of human consciousness, despite behavioral or neural similarities.
