Rethinking the metaphysical questions of mind, matter, freedom, determinism, purpose and the mind-body problem within the panpsychist framework of consolationism

Consolationism is a new philosophical system in 21st-century African thought that offers a universal metaphysical framework grounded in an African worldview. The paper argues that consolationism emerges from a complementary perspective of the universe as an interconnected whole of diverse entities. Its central doctrine of mood introduces novel concepts into African metaphysics and redefines the question of being. The consolationist perspective addresses the mind-body problem and posits consciousness as a necessary feature of the universe. Using exposition and analysis, the author asserts that consolationism's panpsychist framework provides a fresh way to conceptualize mind, matter, the mind-body problem, purpose, freedom, and determinism.
