The special features of the transformation of Vyacheslav Ivanov’s mystical anthropologyin the 1930th: the article “Anima” in the light of the dionysian-mysterial metatext

Vyacheslav Ivanov's article «Anima» represents his religious and mystical views during emigration, offering a symbolic and phenomenological description of the dynamic structure of religious and mystical consciousness. The analysis traces transformations in Ivanov's mystical anthropology from his early work «Ty esi» to the later «Anima», identifying the Dionysian-mysterial plot—based on the Orphic myth of Dionysus's dismemberment by Titans and resurrection—as a generative model. Key innovations in «Anima» include comparing the «Ty esi» plot with Dostoevsky's 'basic myth,' where demonic false Animuses are rejected by Psyche-figures, and introducing Friedrich Nietzsche's fate, interpreting his madness as resulting from betrayal by his Anima.
