Coaching and psychedelics: a beneficial partnership?
August 1, 2024 Yannick Jacob, Nigel Pedlingham, Marcel Braun
Psychedelic experiences may foster growth, learning, and wellbeing for non-clinical populations, not just treat disease. Drawing on coaching psychology and positive psychology, this paper argues that coaching can provide effective, safe, and ethical support for such experiences. It identifies positive psychological themes in research and highlights shared motivations for seeking coaching and psychedelics, building a case for psychedelics-assisted coaching. The paper offers a practice framework and discusses ethical concerns and future research directions.
