Key findings Describes a 20-year-old man with excellent premorbid functioning and no family history of schizophrenia who developed mild paranoia after his first cannabis use in June 2015 and became psychotic after smoking cannabis a second time. The authors note competing views in the literature: that cannabis-induced psychosis is an early sign of schizophrenia, or that cannabis use raises psychosis risk in a dose-dependent way.
