Key findings Argues that elite athletes in individual sports face psychosomatic challenges before competition that impair motor control and performance, and proposes that off-training methods such as breathing techniques, meditation, biofeedback, and mobilization exercises can reduce anxiety and improve pre-competition readiness. The authors contend that structured pre-competition, pre-start, and recovery interventions help stabilize mental and physical states.

Abstract

Actuality.Elite athletes in individual sports often face psychosomatic challenges during pre-competition activities, including stress, anxiety, and emotional tension, which negatively affect motor control, coordination, and overall performance. The increasing demands for mental resilience highlight the importance of supplementary interventions to stabilize athletes' psychological and physical states.Aim of the study. To evaluate the potential of off-training methods in correcting psychosomatic conditions and enhancing precompetition readiness in elit athletes. Materials and Methods. This paper adopts a conceptual synthesis and critical review methodology, integrating interdisciplinary research with the authors' long-term field experience in elite sports preparation. Conceptual model and intervention protocols.Effective strategies include breathing techniques, meditation, biofeedback, and mobilization exercises that foster positive emotional states, reduce anxiety, and improve functional readiness. The study highlights structured application of pre-competition, pre-start, and recovery interventions to stabilize mental and physical states.Pre-competition activity represents an integral part of both stimulating and restorative systems, incorporating specialized means.According to current views, pre-competition states act as stimuli that activate the central nervous system (CNS).
