Abstract
This paper advances a model of the psyche as a thermodynamic–informational organism that modulates entropy to let symbolic life emerge and evolve. Building on Jungian metapsychology, complexity theory, and contemporary predictive‐processing and oscillation neuroscience, I introduce the Acceleration–Expansion–Gravity (AEG) model of psychic dynamics. Acceleration marks entropy spikes and archetypal flooding, Expansion the elaboration of symbolic complexity, and Gravity the integrative forces that restore coherence. Central to these rhythms is the “inhibitory membrane” of consciousness: an explicitly metaphorical construct with physiological anchors, instantiated by oscillatory brain dynamics that regulate the permeability between unconscious potentials and conscious awareness. The model illuminates clinical phenomena such as trauma, psychosis, creativity, and individuation as recurrent cycles of entropy modulation. Framing psyche and cosmos alike as self‐organizing, entropy‐regulating systems, this post‐Jungian cosmopsychism offers both a clinical map of transformation and a cosmological vision of how meaning coheres at the edge of chaos.
