Abstract
4E Cognition is an emerging theory that holds that the core processes of cognition are not limited to the brain. This paper makes an argument for viewing olfaction, and specifically canine olfaction, through a 4E lens. In the process, a novel synthesis of several fields, topics, and facts is produced that allows for the creation of a new direction of inquiry for cognitive science as a whole, with the domestic dog and olfaction as exciting comparative models of study.
