Abstract

This paper proposes a theoretical framework to address the problem of thermal decoherence in quantum theories of consciousness, specifically the Orchestrated Objective Reduction (Orch-OR) theory. Critics argue that the human brain is too "warm, wet, and noisy" to sustain quantum states. We propose that the solution lies in the structural properties of intracellular water. Based on the research of Pollack, we hypothesize that water within neuronal microtubules forms a liquid-crystalline Exclusion Zone (EZ) lattice. This negatively charged, ordered structure functions as a biological Faraday cage, shielding quantum states from thermal noise. Furthermore, the model suggests that microtubules, guided by Golden Ratio (φ) geometry, act as resonant antennas tuned to a fundamental planetary frequency of approximately 7 Hz (Schumann Resonance).
