Abstract
With the world understanding the importance of healthy sleep to a one’s livelihood, smart pillows designed for sleep monitoring and sensory stimulation have emerged to satisfy these needs. However, these systems often lack a customizable, application that helps to cater to user specific needs. Existing applications focus on passive monitoring rather than active enhancement. This paper proposes “Sleepzy”, as a user- centred approach that can be integrated with existing hardware. Raw sensory data obtained from a hardware system, is then translated into actionable insights through the application that which acts as an intelligent control centre. Users will be able to configure and automate various sensory cues such as, auditory, olfactory, and vibrational cues to address specific sleeping disorders like sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and narcolepsy through app features and adaptive routines. Upon reviewing current literature, a critical gap has been identified; a lack of systems that merge in lucid dreaming techniques, therapeutic sensory control and user-centered design. This paper identifies this gap, and presents a comprehensive design for a scalable sleep- therapeutic software and meaningful user experience.
