| Key findings | The authors report that pediatric emergency nurses were generally overstressed, and that stress levels decreased after participation in an MBSR program. They propose MBSR as a potential holistic intervention that reduces nurse stress by cultivating present-moment awareness, emotional regulation, and positive thinking, potentially improving nursing ability and clinical care quality. |
Abstract
In recent years, the problem of negative emotions and job burnout among clinical front-line medical staff has become more and more serious, among which the pediatric emergency department has a large flow of patients, and the health and safety of children is the focus of family attention. Now under the new fertility policy, the number of pediatric patients will increase. Pediatric nurses due to the particularity of the profession and the influence of various factors, in the face of heavy work, all day in a state of tension and anxiety, psychological bear a lot of mental and psychological pressure, long-term, so that nurses are physically and mentally tired, lose confidence in nursing work. In this study, questionnaire survey and statistical analysis were used to analyze whether MBSR could relieve the stress of emergency department nurses. Mindfully based stress reduction therapy (MBSR) is a systematic meditation training method, which can effectively reduce individual stress, strengthen emotional management, and improve individual physical and mental adjustment ability. Whether mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy can improve the work stress of pediatric emergency nurses, thereby improving nursing ability and ensuring the quality and safety of clinical care. Based on the results of the collected data, pediatric emergency nurses were generally overstressed, while the system underwent MBSR and stress levels were measured to decrease. Pediatric emergency nurses often face trauma and high workloads. Mindfulness-based stress reduction programs have been studied as a potential holistic intervention to reduce stress in nurses by cultivating present-moment awareness, emotional regulation, and positive thinking.
