Abstract
This paper presents an electromagnetic field model of global neural synchronization, exploring its potential role in consciousness phenomena. Using an extended Kuramoto framework with additional global coupling terms, we demonstrate through numerical simulations that weak electromagnetic interactions can enhance phase coherence (R = 0.61 ± 0.04) across neural populations. The model achieves stable synchronization with parameters λ = 0.9 and G = 0.015, suggesting that long-range field effects may complement local synaptic connectivity in enabling large-scale neural integration. These results provide a mathematically rigorous foundation for field theories of consciousness while remaining grounded in biophysical principles. The framework bridges computational neuroscience with electromagnetic field theory, offering testable predictions for experimental validation through EEG/MEG measurements.
