Modern societies, by contrast, often emphasize expansion, achievement, accumulation and continuous self-development. Both orientations, however, may share a common psychological structure: the movement of the self toward an imagined future state of completion. \n This paper presents Vedanta 2.0, a conceptual philosophical framework proposing that psychological bondage may be understood not primarily as a consequence of action itself, but as a consequence of future-oriented identification and the perceived distance between one's present state and an imagined state of completion. \n The model introduces three central concepts: Desire, Centre and Zero. Desire is defined not as an independently created entity but as a conditional psychological event emerging from the interaction of memory, circumstances, perception, bodily needs, social comparison and future imagination. The Centre is proposed as a phenomenological condition in which action continues without a persistent psychological demand to complete the self through future attainment.
