Abstract
There have been many studies which show that waking life is mirrored in dream content. In a previous study, the relation between time spent on sports related tasks and sport dreams has been shown where that sports students dream more often of sports than psychology students. In this study the aim was to test whether this trend is also true for students of politics and if the time spent in waking life on political topics is also directly reflected in the dream life. 128 students of politics, psychology and others as well as employed people were asked to tell us about their dream life and waking life activities regarding politics, sports and music. As expected, there was a direct link between the amount of time spent with this waking life activity and the percentage of dreams for politics and sports. Therefore the findings were in line with the continuity hypothesis and it was shown that the amount of time spent on political topics in waking life directly reflects the percentage of politically themed dreams.
