The Metamind: Planetary Intelligence and the Emergence of Trans-Reflective Consciousness

A theory of consciousness transformation proposes that individual and planetary intelligence co-emerge through recursive symmetry, with the individuated meta-self and planetary Metamind as co-constitutive across scales. The work establishes criteria to distinguish coordination from subjectivity, making planetary consciousness empirically tractable. Drawing on active inference and contemplative neuroscience, diagnostic signatures are specified: cross-scale distributed integration, reflexive self-modeling, teleodynamic organization, participatory coupling, and value-sensitive coordination. The theory reframes IIT's exclusion postulate via Hoel's causal emergence. Threshold conditions for planetary intelligence are assembling, with early signatures detectable and diagnostic markers specifiable.
