The present publication does not introduce a new model; instead, it establishes a conceptual foundation for future research on the potential multiplicity of hypnopompic windows within a single night. Preliminary observations—addressed in a forthcoming publication—suggest that under certain conditions the hypnopompic window may appear twice, each instance associated with a distinct block of sleep-dependent consolidation. This work therefore lays the groundwork for such future inquiry by affirming the hypnopompic window as a universal cognitive resource.Introduction.The hypnopompic transition between sleep and wakefulness represents one of the least explored yet potentially most productive states of human cognition. Although contemporary sleep science has advanced significantly in understanding REM–NREM dynamics ,
