Abstract
The increasing, convincing scientific studies of the usefulness of psychedelics for promoting changes for the ego calls for analysts to take a position in relation to these substances. In appropriate cases, they may be considered as an aid to Jungian psychoanalysis, yet they remain controversial and outside the traditional realm of our therapeutic modality. The purpose of the plenary and this paper, both dedicated to the memory of Dr. Lionel Corbett, is to suggest a protocol for the consideration of psychedelics in full recognition of our history, theory, traditions, and practices as Jungian analysts.
