Abstract
El tema de este artículo es la patrimonialización de la ayahuasca en Perú, con especial atención a los aspectos legales de este proceso y la reconstrucción del debate que lo acompaña. Basándose en la bibliografía científica existente, se presenta una descrip-ción general de la ayahuasca y su uso por parte de los pueblos indígenas de América del Sur. A partir del análisis de actos jurídicos y fuentes secundarias, se describe tam-bién el origen del concepto de patrimonio cultural inmaterial de la UNESCO, que se convirtió en punto de referencia para la Resolución n.º 836/INC del Perú sobre el uso tradicional de la ayahuasca. En la parte final, se reconstruyó el debate en torno al uso de la ayahuasca y su patrimonialización, los principales actores y sus argumentos.
