Borneo Nursing Journal January 15, 2026 Zahra Aulia, Tin Utami, Fahmi Ayatun
A single patient who had a cesarean section and experienced anxiety received mindfulness therapy for 3 days (twice daily for 15 minutes each). Before the intervention, the patient's anxiety score was 55 (moderate category) on the Zung Self-rating Anxiety Scale; after the intervention, the score decreased to 40 (mild category). Subjectively, the patient felt calmer, more accepting, and motivated. Objectively, pulse rate and physical signs of anxiety decreased. The authors conclude that mindfulness therapy effectively reduces anxiety in post-cesarean patients and can serve as a non-pharmacological alternative to support psychological recovery.
