Encountering God in Craniosacral Therapy: A Personal Experience of a Person with Muscular Dystrophy

An authentic mystical experience during craniosacral therapy can be interpreted as an encounter with God, distinct from the therapy's therapeutic effects and remaining a gift of divine grace. Using a phenomenological method, the author analyzes a personal transcendental experience that occurred during treatment, arguing that craniosacral therapy can create conditions conducive to spiritual experience without directly inducing it. The article emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue between medicine and theology for understanding the relationship between corporeality and spirituality, while respecting each discipline's autonomy. This offers new perspectives for theological reflection on corporeality, therapy, and mystical experience within Christian spiritual theology.
