Body Cosmos 2.0: embodied biofeedback interface for dancing.

Visual computing for industry, biomedicine, and art November 20, 2025 Rem Rungu Lin, Koo Yongen Ke, Kang Zhang 1 citation

Body Cosmos 2.0 is an embodied biofeedback system that combines dance, human-computer interaction, and bio-art. It generates a real-time digital representation of a dancer's internal state—called a 'bio-body'—using electroencephalography, heart rate sensors, motion tracking, and visualization. Dancers can experience their own physiological and emotional states through three modes: virtual reality embodiment, dancing within their bio-body, and dancing with a bio-digital reflection. A workshop with 24 experienced dancers evaluated the system's effects on self-awareness, creativity, and dance expression. The work suggests that integrating biodata with artistic movement extends beyond traditional neurofeedback into embodied cognition, potentially amplifying self-awareness and expanding creative possibilities in dance.
