Phosphoinositide turnover stimulated by 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptors in the intact rat brain was studied using an in vivo method. Phosphoinositides in the rat brain were prelabeled with [3H]inositol injected into the lateral cerebral ventricles.
