The impact of a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program on patients seeking infertility treatment: A feasibility study

Riki Dayan, Mahsa Gholiof, Alda Ngo et al.

A feasibility randomized controlled trial tested a virtual Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course for infertility patients in Canada. Of 155 eligible patients, 45 completed intake, 34 met criteria, and 24 were randomized. In the MBSR group, 73% started the course and 64% completed over half; survey completion dropped from 82% to 27% across three time points, versus 77% to 69% in controls. Secondary outcomes—mental health, quality of life, pregnancy rates, and treatment initiation—showed no significant differences. The authors identify implementation challenges and call for a larger trial.
