An 18-day smartphone-delivered mindfulness just-in-time adaptive intervention (JITAI) for dementia caregivers was feasible and acceptable, with 100% retention. Most participants found the app easy to use (92.5%), helpful for stress management (81.7%), and would recommend it (80%). Pre-post analyses indicated significant reductions in perceived stress, depressive symptoms, and caregiver burden, as well as increases in positive aspects of caregiving and subjective sleep quality. Health-related quality of life and trait mindfulness did not change significantly. The authors suggest that adaptive, technology-enabled interventions may provide timely support to caregivers.
