A063: Electroencephalogram (EEG) Signal Analysis for College Students' Attention and Meditation Level in Yoga Courses

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health December 1, 2024 Zhonghui He, Fangxin Li, Xi Qi et al.

This study measured attention and meditation levels of 16 college students during yoga classes using EEG signals. Attention was significantly higher during the review phase (mean 48.12) than during the teaching phase (mean 46.24), while meditation levels did not differ significantly between phases. No significant differences were found among different yoga poses. The authors suggest that students may lose attention when learning new poses and recommend placing the teaching phase before the review phase and incorporating review practice into teaching to enhance attention and class efficiency.
