Artificial Self-Consciousness is not Far Away
Common Library Network (Der Gemeinsame Bibliotheksverbund) July 4, 2026 Uwe Saint‐Mont
This note argues that artificial intelligence will soon become self-conscious, because the final developmental step is embodiment. The author contends that recent major advances in AI have set the stage for this transition, and that consciousness in AI depends on giving it a physical form. The argument is presented as a prediction or proposal rather than an empirical finding.
