Can Mindfulness Meditation Improve Short-term and Long-term Academic Achievement in a Higher-education Course?
College Teaching April 25, 2019 Michael F. S. Baranski, Christopher A. Was
A brief mindfulness meditation session practiced before each of seven higher-education course lectures did not improve quiz scores or cumulative exam performance compared to a relaxation control. This null finding contrasts with earlier studies that reported benefits from a single meditation session before a lecture. The authors suggest future research examine moderators such as individual differences and meditation duration, frequency, and style.
