Effects of the Recurrent and Different Doses of Ketamine Exposure on Anxiety-like Behaviors and Locomotor Activity in Juvenile Rats

Repeated exposure to 50 mg/kg ketamine in juvenile male rats increased anxiety-like behavior, impaired memory and spatial navigation, and altered grooming and transition behaviors compared to saline controls. Lower doses (5 and 20 mg/kg) produced mixed effects, with 20 mg/kg reducing anxiety as measured by light-zone time. The study suggests dose-dependent long-term behavioral effects of ketamine in juvenile rats.
