Body
June 15, 2026 T. Riccio
This section of the work argues that the performer's body is the foundation for a cosmocentric practice, one that reconnects practitioners with a hunter-gatherer inheritance of embodied knowing. Through over 100 exercises, explorations, and case studies from fieldwork in Alaska, Africa, China, and elsewhere, the text describes a progression from relaxation and breathwork to rhythm, movement, ensemble dynamics, and character development. It contends that indigenous communities maintain an embodied awareness that Western culture has lost, and the methodology aims to restore sensory presence and a sense of being part of nature's web.
