Lucid dreaming, where individuals realize they are dreaming while still asleep, is a learnable skill. A review of induction methods found that cognitive techniques appear more reliable and effective than external stimulation for inducing lucid dreams. However, no single method is superior, as most approaches yield mixed and contradictory results. The work argues that lucid dreaming may provide insight into healing processes.
