Nightmare and Psychosis Proneness: Mediating Role of Lucid Dreaming in Pakistani Adults

Among 220 young Pakistani adults, nightmares were associated with psychosis proneness, and this relationship was mediated by dream lucidity. Dream lucidity acted as a facilitating factor in the development of psychosis proneness. The correlational study assessed participants using the Mannheim Dream Questionnaire, Inventory of Personality Organization, and The Lucidity and Consciousness in Dreams Scale. Path analysis showed dream lucidity significantly mediated the link between nightmares and psychosis proneness. The findings provide insight into the roles of nightmares and lucid dreaming in psychosis proneness.
