Consciousness is faster than light
March 21, 2025 Skyler P. Dillon preprint
The author argues that consciousness is a faster-than-light phenomenon, which is a new discovery that does not disprove Einstein's theory of relativity but finds a loophole in it. This leads to the conclusion that consciousness cannot be a particle, energy, or anything located in space, such as a soul, and is instead "non-energy information." The author contends that this finding excludes numerous theories of consciousness while enabling new ones, such as a computational theory of consciousness, which was previously untenable due to the speed limit of light. Rare case reports and evidence are cited to support the theory that consciousness is produced, at least in part, from "non-trivial" computations.
