Beyond borderline personality disorder: the mindful brain.

Mindfulness-based interventions, particularly meditation, improve symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD) by increasing gray matter in key brain areas. Some clients who initially met at least five DSM-IV-TR diagnostic criteria for BPD no longer did so after mindfulness-based treatment. The article highlights efficacy in three areas: impulsivity, emotional irregularity, and relationship instability.
