The effect of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) online training on perceived stress of nursing students: An interventional study

Roya Khataei, Zohreh Khoshnoud, Atefeh Ahmadi et al.

An online mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) program reduced perceived stress from clinical environments in nursing students. In a two-group interventional study with 82 nursing students, those in the intervention group attended a 4-session online program (120-150 minutes each) with daily 45-minute exercises. Their perceived stress decreased by three points immediately after the intervention, but the effect was not sustained at the one-month follow-up. Positive perceptions of stress also decreased significantly, from an average score of 13.195 to 10.71. The authors suggest MBCT online training can help reduce stress in nursing students and nurses, but further research is needed on long-term effects.
