In Sidodadi village, people believe that shamans have the ability to heal health problems, but shamans prefer to be called 'tyang saget' (capable people) because the term 'shaman' is associated with black magic. This research describes how shamanic power is inherited, focusing on familial ties. Using snowball sampling, direct observation, and descriptive ethnographic analysis, the study found that shamanic knowledge is transferred within families, typically from a shaman to a descendant who is expected to take on the role in the future. This inheritance cycle helps explain why people in Sidodadi continue to believe in shamans.
