Resolution of Brain-Based Consciousness as a Quantum Information Field

Brain: Broad Research in Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience September 8, 2019 M. Erol

Consciousness arising from the brain is described as an open quantum information field that is created and influenced by environmental sensory information and operates under quantum mechanics. External sensory information, modeled as quantized electromagnetic waves, is assumed to feed cortical neurons and construct the Hamiltonian of brain-based consciousness. Any external energy or information reaching this Hamiltonian is treated as a perturbation. Time-dependent perturbation theory is used to obtain instantaneous wave functions and probability amplitudes, and quantum field theory is applied to resolve the overall brain-based consciousness, leading to several important conclusions.
