Konsep Shamanism Dalam Hadith dan Implikasinya Terhadap Fenomena Perbomohan Kontemporari di Kelantan

Hadith clearly prohibits practices involving polytheism (shirk), divination (kahānah), soothsaying (‘irrāfah), and sorcery that contradict the principle of monotheism (tawḥīd). Although shamanistic healing practices in Kelantan have undergone transformation, including attempts at “Islamization,” elements still conflict with Islamic teachings. A framework based on authentic hadith is proposed to distinguish permitted from prohibited practices, particularly regarding creed and worship. This analysis contributes to hadith studies and Islamic anthropology in Malaysia and provides a theoretical basis for policymakers to develop guidelines for traditional healers, thereby protecting public creed from practices contrary to Islamic teachings.
