Magnetic correlates in electromagnetic consciousness.

Electromagnetic biology and medicine January 1, 2016 A R Liboff

Consciousness may be a manifestation of the electromagnetic field, a hypothesis supported by new considerations. Traditional electrophysiological signaling is unlikely to transmit throughout the brain due to electric field screening by high dielectric lipid membranes, but this problem disappears for low-frequency magnetic fields. Evidence over recent decades shows living tissue is robustly sensitive to ultrasmall (1-100 nT) ELF magnetic fields overlapping the γ-frequency range associated with awareness. Coherent bird flocking behavior lends support to the possibility of a disembodied electromagnetic consciousness. Unlike quantum consciousness hypotheses, this approach is open to experimental trial.
