Association of Mindfulness-Based Interventions With Anxiety Severity in Adults With Cancer

JAMA Network Open August 1, 2020 Sapna Oberoi, Jiayu Yang, R. Woodgate et al.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of 28 randomized clinical trials with 3053 participants found that mindfulness-based interventions were associated with reductions in anxiety severity in adults with cancer up to 6 months after the sessions, compared with usual care, waitlist control, or no intervention. Concomitant reductions in depression severity and improvements in health-related quality of life were also observed. None of the trials included children with cancer.
