Conscious of being Conscious: Hierarchical Recursive Emergence Theory of Consciousness

Joy Vazhayil

Artificial intelligence systems cannot achieve true consciousness because they lack the transcendental self that serves as the quantum observer in human consciousness. While AI may mimic behavioral functions, internal self-awareness arises from a transcendental connection that logical automata cannot emulate. Meaning-making requires a higher realm beyond the physical, and the self emerges through recursive interactions between these realms. The paper presents the Hierarchical Recursive Emergence Theory (HRET), which combines bottom-up hierarchical recursive ascent and top-down entanglement observation to explain the emergence of the conscious Self as the highest manifestation of creativity and freedom in nature.
