Near death experience: neuroscience perspective
Croatian Medical Journal August 1, 2015 L. Konopka
Near-death experiences (NDEs) are reported by individuals who have faced life-threatening situations, and these experiences share identifiable features that suggest a transitional stage of consciousness. Cultural rituals surrounding death often frame it as a passage to another reality, which aligns with the fascination with NDEs. The text notes that while much is known about birth, maturity, and old age, death remains difficult to study scientifically, yet NDEs offer a window into the dying process.
