A NEW APPROACH IN PSYCHOLOGY: TRANSPERSONAL PSYCHOLOGY

Historia scientiarum March 15, 2025 H. Isayev, Irada Taghiyeva

Transpersonal psychology, introduced by Abraham Maslow in 1967, addresses aspects of human development beyond those covered by behavioral or cognitive psychology, such as spiritual, moral, and emotional growth. This qualitative research explores the relationship between mind and body, the theoretical and practical aspects of transpersonal psychology, and its place in contemporary psychology. The study examines how individuals can recognize themselves, the psychoanalytic approach to mental health, and the general reasons for psychology's emergence. The findings indicate that transpersonal psychology is significant because it attempts to explain nuances that other psychological schools cannot address.
