Dreams are examined through both neuroscience and psychoanalysis, showing that neurobiological processes and psychological meanings are interconnected. The review describes the neurobiology of dreams and hypotheses about their origins and functions. Psychoanalytic theories demonstrate how dreams influence emotions and vice versa. There is a growing connection between these fields, with psychotherapy providing empirical results that guide neuroscientific investigations. Understanding dreams requires integrating psychosocial and neurophysiological perspectives, and this paper expands the understanding of interrelationships between neuroscience and psychoanalysis regarding dreams.
