The Euclidean Spacetime Hypothesis of Consciousness: Quantum Decoupling and the Emergence of Stationary Dynamics in Dream States

Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) July 6, 2026 Ji Tang

A new theoretical framework maps the unusual features of REM-sleep dreams onto the mathematics of quantum cosmology. The transition from waking to dreaming can be modeled as a localized quantum decoupling between the conscious observer and the internal physiological clock. This uncoupling eliminates the standard time-evolution operator, shifting the system's dynamics from the time-dependent Schrödinger equation to a static, time-independent equation within a four-dimensional Euclidean manifold. The model offers a geometrically grounded explanation for the non-linear spatial transitions, causal dissolution, and superposition-like narratives experienced in dreams.
