Patients undergoing hemodialysis who participated in an 8-week peer support group had significantly higher self-transcendence scores and better physical health status compared to a control group. A direct relationship was found between self-transcendence and improved physical function. Promoting self-transcendence may enhance physical health and quality of life for dialysis patients.
